NIMBY!?!?!

Work has been slow all year, we have a wind farm starting in Dekalb and Lee county. There happens to be a group that is trying to block this farm from happening. It is a sad day when groups that are trying stop forward motion of energy usage from fossil fuels to renewable energy. I think I would much rather see this outside than a Nuclear or oil/gas fired plant in my backyard. Unfortunately the people who want this stopped don't even have a turbine on there property, and some don't even live in the county they are just obstructionist. Maybe one day people will look beyond tomorrow toward the future of what will be when our children and there children are grown. What is the worse that could happen by switching to renewable energy? Whole new markets, jobs, innovation, and possibly a cleaner environment all good for the future. Boldness is necessary, too bad we are in a perpetual election cycle were corporation and their lobbyist control the government, not the people.
What is the old saying....
Lead, follow, or get out of the way!
We need to Lead or we will be moved out of the way.
That is my thought of the day.
Well I am off to write another letter to the Prez.

Golf?.?.

Our Ironworking Charity Golf Outy was pretty successful this year. I had the pleasure of golfing with my Uncle Bill, Cousin Billy, and John. They pretty much Carried me through the outing, since it was my second time EVER golfing. Good thing it was best ball. I had a blast, I think I could like the game.

This was one delicious bottle of wine for any wine people (maybe even none wine people) I would highly recomend it. From Washington Columbia Valley, not too dry not to too fruity very good.
I drank the whole bottle preparing dinner. I went for a walk after supper with the kids which was needed. I would definately buy this again it was good. By the way I think my sister Pam gave this to me, her loss.

Summer time is here and I have been very delinquent in keeping up on this blog. I will try to do better. Work hours are long (but it is work) and my email, facebook, ad Blog have suffered. Here are some latest pics of the kids activities. Chicago and the Green Festival at Navy Pier, Tubing and swimming at Castle Rock Lake with friends, and just hangin by the pool! So far an awesome summer.

I know it has been awhile but, better late then never. Here are the kiddies at Apple River Canyon State Park near Stockton. We were thinking of a potential camping spot, but after visiting we decided it is not a place for us to camp, but a nice small state park.
Unfortunately My cousin Neil passed away on Good Friday after a battle with Cancer, I will miss him. Way to young! Makes you really think and take stock of your own mortality in regards to Family, Life, and Happiness! Everyone should enjoy the too short of time they have in this world and make the ABSOLUTE most of it. You never know when, just that it will happen, and you may not have everything accomplished that you want.
Love and Peace to All!

Abbi, The wicked witch of the Mid-West!!!
She looks pure evil don't she?

Madi had a great day at her 4-H sledding party. She was nervous at first, but that quickly left her for some fun on the sled.

I know it has been a bit for my updating. We had a great day at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. The kids had a lot of fun. As much as we tried to read stuff for ourselves and to them, there was just too much stuff to see. They were all over the place. They were wiped out at the end of the day for a quiet ride home.

It has been a bit since updating, sorry. The kids are enjoying their vacation, but soon to be back to school. They are bored you know, nothing to do (sheeez wish I didn't have to go to work and could play all day).
I forgot how much fun the game Clue was, Chloe she likes to play but doesn't keep track of her clues, and she shares them with EVERYONE. Even Paige got in on the action.

This winter started out a snowy one. The kids enjoyed it it even looks like the shovelers were enjoying it a little too.
